Going Bust

Well, In December 2017 my less than faithful iBuyPower Core i7 died... again... this must have been the 4th time, I think. And this time, it was for good. Tried to get it going again with a new power-supply, but to no avail. With a friend's help I've been rebuilding and restoring.
Currently I'm running on a pair of 4TB SMR disks that are dreadfully slow, but at least they run cool (ventilation in my studio apartment is abysmal), and trying to get some cycles to dedicate to my games and programming education, once again.
This week, I went back to the early sections of this course and once I was poking at this old code from last year I remembered some lose strings. The biggest one on the list:
- "The greedy backspace key". Just about everybody who uses this module deals with it (maybe by now they've fixed the source-code, I couldn't say, I haven't re-downloaded it recently). Well, that one is fixed now.
- While I was at it, I decided to play with the cursor. I swapped from underscore to a block, and gave it a longer on-pulse than off-pulse, but for some reason the block isn't showing in the WebGL version..... derp.
- I'd been wanting to do something along the lines of "ghost typing" when my system 'boots-up'... specifically, have the player observe the load command, with typing noises and all, because it's a clue to the Easter Egg. It'll be even better once I get the cursor issue worked-out.
